Installing the Right Plugins

So, you’re running your website on WordPress. You want to send leads, that you’ve generated on your website, directly into your Salesforce CRM. Sound simple?

Well, it is when you know the right plugins to install.

Most well-rated contact form managers for WordPress have features that stop short of meeting the needs to integrate with Salesforce.  Either they don’t allow hidden fields that are needed to store information about your Salesforce organisation, they don’t allow form submissions to be sent anywhere other than to your WordPress subscriber list, or they don’t allow much in the way of styling.

If this works well for you, be sure to leave a comment or send us a tweet!

A Combination of Plugins

After researching the issue of integrating Salesforce with WordPress, the most efficient way that we have found to provide web-to-lead functionality in WordPress that includes styling, so that the form fits in with the look-and-feel of your website, is to use the Contact Form 7 plugin together with the Contact Form 7 3rd Party Integration plugin.

In combination, these plugins allow you to create highly customisable forms (Contact Form 7). You can post the registration data submitted on your website directly into Salesforce (Contact Form 7 3rd Party Integration). This includes passing static Salesforce information (Organisation ID) and form-specific Salesforce information (Campaigns).

So, if you are a Salesforce and WordPress user and would like a web-to-lead form on your website that fits in with its look and feel, we’d recommend taking a look at the combination of Contact Form 7 plus Contact Form 7 3rd Party Integration. It works a treat!
